SAP Business One (SAP B1) is an advanced ERP system that constitutes the key to effective resource management and optimization of business processes at your company. It allows handling processes related to: orders, purchases, document circulation, warehouse management, bookkeeping, data analysis (controlling). At MDDP Outsourcing, we support our customers not only in the implementation of the system but also in its everyday operation. We help them utilize the provided features to the maximum.
Below, we have described several facts about SAP B1 which prove why it is one of the more valuable tools available on the market that one should skillfully take advantage of.
- Do you know that the relation map in SAP B1 is an interactive tool that visualizes dependencies between documents? You can easily track the whole process from the purchase/sales order, through acceptance/issue of goods, invoicing all the way to the payment. Each field of the diagram is active so that the user is able to directly browse the related documents.
- Do you know that most documents (apart from booking orders) in SAP B1 are booked on so-called indexes? The said indexes are allocated to specific accounts, which facilitates account assignment and allows for a better data analysis. One index can be assigned to one account but one account may have many indexes. Indexes may be used for analytical purposes on accounts or additional points of reference that help in data analyses.
- Do you know that it is impossible to make a correction in a booked document in SAP B1? In case of an error, it is required to reverse the booking and book the document again from scratch. It has its advantages though – there is no risk of accidental modifications so the user may safely browse the documents.
- Do you know that every operation from the bank statement is booked as a separate document in SAP B1?
If you make a mistake, you only need to reverse the incorrect item, not the whole statement. This way, you can manage your bank operations more accurately.
- Do you know that SAP B1 is very flexible and allows for creating add-ons that will suit individual needs? Here are several examples of add-ons that we prepared for our customers:
- Loan add-on: to record loan agreement, charge monthly interest and book on the indicated accounts.
- Payment add-on: divides payments by various bank accounts. For example, payments for one invoice can be made from several bank accounts due to the received subsidies. The add-on will automatically divide the amounts and assign them to proper bank accounts based on the accounting labels.
SAP B1 is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises that make up a large proportion of our customers. However, it will also prove useful in large companies. Due to the open architecture based on SAP SDK tools, it is possible to adjust the system to the needs of larger enterprises – something that we have rich experience in as well.
