The role of regular training in professional development – read the interview

Here is an inspirational conversation with Iwona Ślaska, HR Manager at MDDP Outsourcing, who will tell us about the importance of regular training in professional development. Katarzyna Doktór: – Iwona, what types of training you choose in order to expand your abilities?

Iwona Ślaska: – Above all, it must be practical. I always pay attention to the person who will conduct the training, the amount of substantive content versus pure theory, because I can read books on my own. I attend courses, keep developing all the time. But the thing that I find very valuable is the substantive content. Even in the case of training in leadership, HR or analytics – I always pay attention to the tutor and to what is included in the program itself. Business practitioners will provide me with examples, base their theories on various sectors, different cases and that is what I am looking for on the market.

KD: – In your opinion, what is the effect of regular training on the quality and effectiveness of work?

IŚ: – Let me put it this way: if I skipped eating a revitalizing breakfast, I would not be able to function properly.

KD: – Could you give us a specific example of skills or knowledge that you acquired from the most recent training?

IŚ: – I have recently attended a training cycle as part of a nine-month academy for business leaders. Namely the Empathetic Leader Academy conducted by business theoreticians, or I could say colleagues, because they work in HR, leadership and training as well. And although I already knew most of those things, I could rediscover them. I learned how to get into more detail within the scope of empathy and find the needs that are connected with every issue.

KD: – Tells us what other advantages, apart from increasing professional competences, does the training give to you and MDDP Outsourcing?

IŚ: – In my case, it will be fun, but also efficiency, work effectiveness and higher qualifications. It gives satisfaction not only to me but also to the company, because we provide the highest-quality services on the market. This way, the company can guarantee the high quality of the sector I manage.
