In just under six years, Aider, with the support of its private equity fund, has grown to over 1,400 employees, becoming one of the leaders in the Norwegian market in accounting, payroll, advisory, and technology. After an intense consolidation of the Norwegian market, 2025 marked the beginning of its international expansion. Initial plans targeted only the Nordic countries; however, with the investment in MDDP Outsourcing, the Norwegians have entered Central and Eastern Europe.
Aider has invested in our company, which specializes in outsourced accounting and payroll services and originates from the leading Polish advisory group MDDP. As MDDP Outsourcing, we are one of the largest providers of accounting services in Poland, employing 300 staff across offices in Warsaw and Katowice, with annual revenues of PLN 63 million.
“Our original plan was to start operations in Sweden and Denmark, but when such an opportunity arises, you have to seize it—for three reasons. First, investing in MDDP Outsourcing perfectly aligns with our strategy of supporting companies with global ambitions. Second, Poland is a large market with strong economic growth. Third and most importantly, the three leading partners of MDDP Outsourcing fit perfectly within our organization. I see enormous potential for collaboration and further growth,” says Andreas Vik, CEO of Aider.
Until now, Aider has focused exclusively on the Norwegian market, with over 50 offices in the country. With Castik Capital joining as a majority shareholder earlier this year, Aider’s ambitions for international expansion have accelerated significantly. Aider offers much more than just accounting services—the company delivers advanced system solutions and provides access to specialists in HR, sustainability, management, legal services, recruitment, and interim management. It is precisely this service model, supported by investments in modern technologies and talent development, that Aider plans to introduce to the Polish market.
“MDDP Outsourcing is a strong and profitable business. Together with our Norwegian partners, we will continue to develop the company in the chosen direction. This is not a revolution but an evolution and an opportunity for faster growth. We know that clients value both our human capital and technological sophistication. On these two pillars, strengthened by investments we will make with our strategic partner, as well as through further acquisitions, we want to base our future development,” adds Rafał Michniewicz, partner at MDDP Outsourcing.
“After completing the formalities, we will actively seek accounting and payroll service companies that share our optimism about the market consolidation potential. Our interests will also include companies offering complementary services, particularly in systems and technology. Ultimately, the most important factor for us is people—those who share similar values and are open to jointly exploring new opportunities that can enrich our group,” adds Rafał Michniewicz.
“Clients today expect greater support, especially in technology,” says Knut Grotli, Chairman of Aider. “We see significant synergies in automation and AI, reporting, data analytics, and shared ERP systems for international clients. Aider has one of the leading ERP environments in the Nordic countries—something that MDDP Outsourcing can now fully leverage. This acquisition opens many technological opportunities, which we will implement quickly. We are excited to deliver even more value to our clients through intelligent solutions,” adds Grotli.
A perfect match—that’s how Magdalena Michniewicz, partner at MDDP Outsourcing, describes the transaction. “We share the same values and approach with Aider—both in our way of working and in respect for employees. We are optimistic about the future and the potential arising from combining the experience and knowledge of our teams. By joining forces, we will accelerate technology investments that allow our clients—both international corporations and leading Polish companies—to benefit from more advanced, faster, and better-integrated services,” says Michniewicz. She emphasizes that the key factor for success will be nurturing team development. “We believe that the best service comes from the best teams. Together with Aider, we will continue investing in the development of our employees and attracting top talent,” says Magda Michniewicz.
Szymon Churski, Partner at MDDP Outsourcing, highlights the opportunities created by joining an international group. “Being part of Aider gives us not only the chance to acquire new clients in different countries but also the ability to offer our Polish clients support in foreign markets during their expansion. This is a unique advantage we bring to the market” says Szymon Churski.
The transaction will be finalized upon obtaining approval from the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). After completion, the company will undergo a full rebranding process.
